Pre-K for PA: All Children Enter School Ready to Succeed

Harrisburg and Washington must invest in high quality child care and pre-k for both to happen. This issue matters to all families and helps support a healthy economy.

In Pennsylvania, 60% of eligible 3- and 4-years-olds do not have access to high-quality, publicly funded pre-kindergarten. That’s nearly 102,000 children who are missing out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Seventy-eight percent, or about 93,000, infants and toddlers are eligible but are not receiving child care subsidies; serving more children would not only be a win for them and their families but will address a critical workforce support essential in our economic recovery.
